loveing strongly deeply and completely

How do you let a friend go?

How do you beg them to stay?

So body weary they are

It shines in their eyes

The begging for sweet release

Yet I desire to scream

Stay with me for just one more day

Stay for a week a month at least

If I could but take your pain

Just bear if for a day would you stay?

I talk and talk hoping to distract you

May the grim reaper not hear you call?

Hide you behind my words from angels

But I am a friend in the end

And when the time comes I will let go

I love you, love you enough to let go

It is hard to say good-bye. the only consolation, if that's what it is, is that we too will say good-bye someday.

Wow, brings back memories, and the end is hard, but you are right, we have to love enough to let go.

Certainly a write full of deep emotion and love for a dear one. It is when we find ourselves faced with the "grim reaper" that we wish for more time to spend with those that are so important to us. Recently, I sat at home and wrote...."what would you do if you knew you were told you only had 9 days to live, not 6 months, just 9 days. Why 9 days? Well, it's just over a week, long enough for one to feel they can accomplish all they want in those most important 9 days of their life. You have allowed us to feel your pain and to appreciate life itself. Thank you. May you remember all those special moments shared with your "Friend."

Hugs,
Dorothy

...pen of friend...to let go...like a balloon in the sky...wondering if the string has left your hand...but see the lifted color...to the heavens held...to let go.
excellent compassionate pen of forever...a friend.

How deep in anguish you are, yet resolved to let go when the time comes is not an easy task. But let go we must and pray the journey into God's house is a pleasant one. God bless.....

Be always safe,
Karen
