Love is shown in many forms, some times a touch can say more than words can express

You took my hand; I felt it slip over my own

You took my hand in yours and my heart followed

In all my years no other had reached out in such a gesture

You took my hand; I felt the caress of strength

You took my hand and my soul became one with yours

Now years have passed our love has considerately mellowed

I take your hand knowing each callous and line

I love your hand as you have lovely sheltered mine

Once what was two, forever joined as one through eternal time

I love your poem. I've been married 44 years to a lovely bride. My only problem is, as we age one of us must go before the other.
