NO more happy dance
no more tugs of love on my locks
I hear your yelps still in my heart
sweet grand dog of such a short lived life

My tears drench my face as once did your licks
my throat so tight I can hardly breath
knowing not many would understand my need
just to know you were there protecting our family

Then I think of the joy you did bring
funny black faced pup
with powder sugar doughnut covering your face
joyous sounds of your assault on a marrow bone

Born of a pitt bull breed so many fear
in your chest beat a heart of gold
so glad no one ruined your glimmering soul
sleep well sweet prince, our diesel dog...
My Sweet Granddog

I was about ready to start putting out flyers about our missing cheryl. I've missed you. Sad poem. I have been ther, done that, of course and there is just nothing quite like losing a good furry friend. Please replace it.
