I stepped out this morning to smell the color bouquet of life
green was a broken pine branch along with cut grass
gold was a new born kitten after nursing mothers tit milk
down the lane I happened on an orange rind, I picked it up
there I also found the scent of brown from clinging earth

Looking to the sky which was gray I wonder what that would be
then rain droplets fell upon me, telling of it's many savored shades
and I knew gray was the scent of fresh fallen season rains
white sheets flapping on a clothes line told me of achromatic scent
Lighting crackled I sniffed air, I knew the color scent of inferno fire

I stepped out this morning to smell the color bouquet of life
and I found that life's scents were a fragrant rainbow arch
each scent layered upon the next all breathtakingly delectable
when I stepped back into my soul I retained the balm memory
each time I inhale these wanton incense again, here I will be

A fine way to express the scent of life. Especially, "white sheets flapping on a clothes line . . . achromatic scent," and "Lighting crackled . . . scent of inferno fire." Great!
