Sometimes we see a thing
other times we smell one.
Sometimes we hear a thing
then again we taste one.
But oh for the sometimes
we get to feel a thing.

The warmth of the days sun
a childs trust in our hug
drops from a tear washed sky
essence of a new rose
sound of a babys laugh
love in our lovers eyes.

I have seen beautiful
been blessed with fine perfumes
heard many symphonies
ate delectable treats.
Yet the dearest feeling
anothers thoughts of you.

Your effort to name but a few of the sensorial rewards important to you causes yet more to spring forth that are the province of the reader. As writers, we run the gauntlet each time we attempt finding words for these sense vibrations, yet, as you so perfectly and adroitly point out, there is no substitute for feeling another's thoughts for you. The laying out of these thoughts, in and of themselves, suggests you are one worthy of another's thoughts. I wish you well in that pursuit... or maybe I should say, that meditation, for synergism is our best friend, and I would guess you have many. Well done.

A very good feel-good poem, Budd, I did have a problem understanding the last two lines, however. Maybe it's just me.

"Yet the dearest feeling
anothers thoughts of you."

Somehow the word "anothers" where it is just doesn't make sense to me.
