The past week or so.

This cold empty snow colored page
without meaningful scratches
laughs at my void yearning.

There are deep thoughts written within..I like this very much..Yes, it is short, but meaningful to me...Empty covers many facets of life..

My interpretation ... the ever elusive muse has vanished...and the empty page mocks the poet! WEll done, Budd!

"meaningful scratches." I like that. Sketching can be included here, too. Looks like you've already increased font size here. Either that, or I'm not quite as blind as Jerry and Richard. Either way, I'm so curious about everyone's everything, I'll just get my magnifying glass. Keep writing ~~ Diana

Budd, I like your work, but I agree with Jerry, I don't want to have to work so hard to get your message. What color is that anyway?

There are several poets who insist upon posting in such fine print that old farts like me can't read it. I no longer waste my time opening their posts.

There are one or two who screw up the spacing by starting in the middle of the line, which makes it difficult to concentrate on their message. I no longer waste my time there either.

Several who use ALL CAPS or others who use a lot of !!!!!!!!! in attempts to draw attention to their work. I’ve always felt that if your work is worthwhile, you don’t need to resort to gimmicks. Conversely, all the gimmicks in the world, can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

I’ll be back, but the clock is running. Dick

In but a few words, you epitomize the poetic understanding of Camus, and to a lessor, but still relevant, Sartre. How often do we consider the creative state of a being challenged by the blank canvas of a daily awakening--the invitation to create our own reality, rather than live another's. Beautifully succinct and lovingly pragmatic. Of course, others might see it completely opposite, given we perceive that which we "need" to perceive.

Nothing worse than wanting to write one thing and it turns out to be something quite different to what I had planned. (my take on this )

forget the snow, huh
always something in our craw
don't complain. DO it

p.s.: Please make the type readable so I don't have to highlight it.
