ocassionaly the timing of life just is not right

I drive these curvy mountain roads
through the mists of my lonliness
guiding the wheels from side to side
watching the phones lite not to shine.

We talked in early morning hours
I dare not be the next to call
and thus invade your private time
so I drive silent hour after hour.

Behind the eyes that watch these roads
I see your bright green eyes that shine
and feel your lips pressed up to mine
tis but a dream I live this day.

Fore the distance be far away
and our time has come but late
so it is in only my dreams
and 'cross the lines that we may be.

I find so much tenderness in your arrangements, Budd. The writing of such a sensitive soul who thinks: "I dare not be the next to call/and thus invade your private time" -- I bet lots of women would like one of those! Just the right length is this poem, to paint the temperament you create here. ~ ~ Diana

Love how this theme is expressed, the lonely road is seen visually and physically - great piece.

A uniquely visual journey of an often experienced action--the driving of a lonely road. I did, however, find myself struggling with the rhythm of the last stanza whose sentiment felt perfect for the ending.

What a beautiful dream Budd, and
gives you time to reflect and recall.
All the things that you hold dear
and keep close to your heart.

Such a lovely romantic vision.
I can see you behind the wheel of your car
driving and seeing these green eyes looking
back to you... "I see your bright green eyes that shine"

Just a wonderful piece!

Beautiful Budd, you must be deeply in love.
Sometimes dreams can come true, especially when you both share the same dreams.
A distance can never be to far, and when your time has come it's never to late

Dreams have a way of touching you and making everything all real, my friend. I so enjoyed this offering.
