Another meeting day, lol

He had written for a while
as she helped those on the phone.
On a poem she now wrote
so he went to sit and rest.
Listening to soothing songs
while she with the green eyes wrote.

Down on his lap she now sat
with her head on his shoulder.
Mister and Mistress cuddled
within each others arms.
Enjoying warmth together
as they listen "Don't blame me".

Now she hums a melody
as he kisses her heads top.
Openly close and loving
each joined to the other one.
When finally they get up
and find sweet sleep together.

You create a lovely vignette to showcase the sharing of life, love and time. The oneness, as Joy said, just the knowledge of the other's presence even when not talking or sharing the same activity, as close as when you do snuggle and listen to music together. It reminds me of my love. We are blessed. Beautiful. Be well, Kathy

Your poem reflects the unique oneness couples share when they have been together for awhile; the every day parts of life that complete the wholeness of their relationship. I like the easy style in which your poem was written, ending with the "sweet sleep together." I enjoyed this immensely, Budd.

A very peaceful, harmonious and romantic view of two people who love each other deeply.
Good to see romance is back and the green eyes are not gone.

The simplicity of intimacy is so often overlooked, vying as writers often do to complicate what was once just what it was... simple. You've captured that here, asking the reader to consider that uncomplicated nature the species was endowed with... originally. Interesting how far we've traveled to go around the block a different way.

I agree with Jerry; the mood that your words elicit is one with which I love to be intimate. Love and peace to you, Budd.

"Sweet sleep together" is a great quote, Budd. The poem put me in a easy, rocking chair kind of mood, and that ain't a bad mood to be in.

And created while you were in a meeting? lol
Says a lot about that meeting :)

But what a lovely sweet poem that of
Mister and Mistress... very lovely indeed

Knowing at the end of the day all becomes quiet and sweet sleep is found (hmmm they must be old laughing a wee bit)
