My hate flickers like the flame on this candle;
No thoughts to fuel this fire.
Can I feel anything now?
Have I lost the ability somehow?
Did someone steal it from me?
I saw it drift by last night,
Washed away by the rain.

I don't want to ask anything of you,
Because the answers are never there;
You never hear a word I say.
I guess it's just not what you want to hear,
And what that is; I don't know.
I don't feel the same,
Don't believe the same as you.

My love flickers like the flame on this candle,
No one around to fuel my fire.
Death has taken my joy-
Stolen all my friends away,
And I shall have my turn,
My time to send back
This gift
That was handed to me.

Sometimes it feels like there is nothing ahead, doesn't it? Those are the times I turn to God, put my hand in His, and let Him show me the way. Very good write, John.

Peace. Joyce
