Bright Red

sweet melancholic moods
drift downward
like autumnís leaves:
and dead

tears slide
deep into heartís chambers
once alive
risking rustic red

vibrant red lips
absent loveís expression, quiver
slipping naked
and lifeless
toward winter

underutilized mind
whips silence crazy
like autumnís chill
stirs the bleeding leaves

reminders of your love
breathe life into poetry
your heart speaks
the bright red truth
and, I
alive, now, and dancing
want to live
within your eyes forever

"Bright Red" reminds us of human nature's: "Hope springs eternal."

"and, I, alive, now, and dancing, want to live within your eyes forever."

Love defies the notion of unobtainable immortality!

I love the way your poem starts with "melancholic moods" and progresses toward a happier mood. Nicely done, and looks great in that frame.

Precious friend,
Red is the colour of passion and you're certainly not lacking that but in this write I am reminded of a movie that was shot in black and white except for a young girl in a scarlet coat. The contrast of this little girl's coat was what made the bleak horror of the movie that much more effective. In this I feel like I'm seeing your life blood in print. You have an incredible heart, so filled with love and I pray that all you desire comes to you in abundance.
