Recipe: American Dream Cake

This is a picture of the house my wife and I are building at the top of the hill in the middle of our 47 acres in Kentucky. A modest palace for my queen.

Recipe: American Dream Cake

By Scott D. Zachary

Begin with several dozen acres
of lush rolling farmland.
Scoop several crystal-clear ponds,
brimming with smallmouth bass,
where deer and turkey quench their thirst.
Sprinkle generously with flowering trees,
preferably pink and white dogwoods and redbuds.
Pepper with holly and magnolia trees to taste.
Cover the land evenly with Kentucky bluegrass.
Dollop one large hill
into the center of the green acreage,
overlooking 50 miles of scenic views.
Smooth one acre at the summit.
Lace with one long winding country road
to your dream house at the top of the hill.
Bake the above ingredients
at seasonal temperatures for a lifetime
with the one you love.

It's funny that you would post this. I just happened to have a conversation with my hubby a few days ago in which I told him that I would like to live in a farm with many acres of land.

We are still considering this possibility.

Wow! This is weird. It's like you have read my mind.
