If I spent even one nanosecond thinking about how my life could be better, I would be damn greedy.

A Polished Feeling
By Scott D. Zachary
The farm is decked out like a million-dollar course Just waiting for the purview of our horses
The shop’s organized and the tractor’s tuned Flowers planted and 47 acres festooned
Eye-catching flower boxes like those in Vail Inviting the butterflies to flitter and hail
Got a fresh rain to help fill our newly-built pond The other is decorated with beautiful fronds
The garden is harvested, the pantries filled Including my favorite sun pickles—I’m thrilled
A custom-built home to share with the love of my life I call her my best friend, my lover and my gorgeous wife
My honey bunny often expresses her gratefulness Which makes me feel all the more blessed
Paid every single bill with oodles left for me Just a hop and a skip from totally debt-free
Plenty left over to share with those in dire need Especially for the ones who wouldn’t otherwise feed
Our wonderful nine children are doing well Which makes my heart patter and swell
Lots of friends to give my heart warmth and delight It’s been years since I had an argument or fight
My clients are happy; business is doing well Their systems are performing like a shiny bell
Heck, I even cleaned my desk—partly anyway The first time since anyone could possibly say
But most importantly The Lord is with me

Happy to be one of those friends on this end & didn't know you were thinking of having horses...? Ought to talk to Rene' first or have us out to go horse shopping with you as she knows them quite well...(when you first spoke of polishing, I thought maybe you polished off a keg or a case of Corona, LOL!) Find peace in your beliefs, Ed, Rufuz and Rene
