Just letting my ideas and words flow. Some are not so nice; others are.

A Proud Mother
By Scott D. Zachary Copyright 2004
A proud mother, she smiled, As her infant cooed. Mama graciously offered her teat To her innocent, suckling child.
She watched him flower Into a darling little boy. Her pride flourished, Listening to his sweet hymns.
Years and years later, Mama sank into deep pits of despair. Her little boy began killing In the name of God.
Had I known that he would have Imperiled civilization, Could I have . . . would I have Bent my little baby’s neck ‘til it snapped?

| The ending of this poem is so sad. Sometimes children end up taking the wrong paths in life, or making the wrong choices, no matter how loving a mother can be. |

I sure hope not. there have been killings in God's name since the world began. If we all did what you suggested there'd be no need for God, and without the creator it would be an even more horrific world!
Well written! |

| All we can do, is the best in our teachings. That is where the responsiblities end. The student or child then is responsible for their own actions. One should never regret sharing light. The tale end of this is a great example of why we do not have the insight to the future. All actions have a reaction, and all reactions create a whole that we have yet to understand. |

But isn't that the chance we take with bringing kids into the world? Any one of them could turn into a Jeffrey Dahmer or an Adolph Hitler,
or they could also turn into a JFK or MLK, Jr...like rolling the dice, do we have control, no, but we can help, just do our best, is all we can do...interesting viewpoint, Scott. Peace thru Words, Ed & Woofie |
