Does anyone else have this twist?

of being in the Den and enjoying it

so much that the house remains undone

because you are having so much fun?

And when on 'vacation' or otherly-occupied

and unable to read what others write

such that email notices from Authors Den

exponentially accumulate to 110? ,

you so want to read each and every one

but then other things just have to get done?

I hear ya' Diana! I've been a Den Member for over three years and I've discovered so many amazing writers it's getting difficult to keep up with my reading and find time to comment on everything...Wintertime is my best time for spending hours every day in the den enjoying so much....but in the summer...I'm outside most of the time and by the time I get back home...it's time to sleep...giggle....but I LOVE it here!

being on the Den for over 10 years, i've done my share in reading as well as commenting ... it can be difficult to keep up with it all, but you do what and when you can ... you get your share of authors who'll comment only for tit-for-tat and many readers who'll never comment at but still read ... but keeping up with the house does a way to do it on its own between the lines ;)

Retirement has taught me *Diana*
that I could never do now what
I used to do, but then again my
priorities have changed too...
so, I can closely relate by
enjoying your poem very much

I used to write a lot and read only “friends.” So I had a few. So I decided to read everyone, taking up most of my day so that I can barely write. What do you know ! Now I've got all kinds of friends and followers that I can hardly keep up the e-mails with. So I'm not writing the next great novel–boo-hoo! ;-) Am I on Facebook like AD?

Ron

Just remembered. Went to your blog three times to comment and haven't yet–going now.

I know exactly where you're coming from, Diana, having become a complete AD junkie (ITNPW) when I joined in 2004, such was the buzz I got from all the interaction and stimulation here as a starting-out writer. Eight years on I find myself berueing the lack of quality time I can now give to the community here and especially the fact that I am a total CAD when it comes to reading new members - and I always feel really, REALLY bad about that - but I can scarce keep up with the circles I find myself moving in anyway, so I can't keep beating myself up about that. JUST ENJOY THE MOMENT and long may it continue! Whether pro-active or backsliding, this community is an amiable and tolerant family (in my experience) who will always accept you as you are and take it as it comes. But yes, sadly there are other members of our very real households who can get a bit irked by our cyber absorptions... even the dog suffers! :)) xx

Unless you plan to spend the whole day here, you just don't have time to read them all, so we're selective. I'm always afraid there are some really good postings that I'm missing, but we each have our favorites to keep up with.... beyond that, I think it's kinda hit or miss for most of us.

Nice one Diana. Dick

Ha, ha Jerry, I don't have nearly that many either, but I needed a word to rhyme with Den and ten was rather underwhelming. I have to go vacuum now. ~~ Diana

Well... since being here, like Jerry I have my favorite Author's and such. And yes, I do fall behind as I am also a life coach to those in need. How does my house look? Ehhhh some days rather bad lol

But I completely understand darlin' - you just have to schedule yourself to get certain things you know you must done first. Orrrrrrrr lol you end up like me at the end of the day feverishly trying to clean your inside disaster and such.. I do have to laugh. I think you cover everyone here because truly we would love to give everyone a review where a due one is worth.

Thank you for writing this :)

I think we have to be selective as to our tastes, the volume of material the poet posts, and even then there will be times that you may need to delete all emails and restart fresh, as when you are away etc.

Not me. I don't have nearly than many "friends." I have to keep my list to a select few because I spend much of my time on the novel I am writing, and am almost through with the first draft. Yea! But yeah, housework does suffer, that is for sure.
