Eternal Mystery, once more fill my lungs With cold air from the great lake spirit Before the sky is separated from your waters Let me crawl into a cave along your rocky shore Hide my body in final victory So that, when your edges have been made straight I will rest with the jagged rocks I love When the twisted pines grow in rows Carry me to where Loons dive beside my canoe And my head rests on that spot Where the great bear has grubbed for berries Only a moment before.
