A mysterious creature lurks within! |

There's a tale about Lake Erie
Said a beast which swims within
Beast's name happens to be Bessie
Perhaps Nessie's distant kin
On one morning bleak and bleary
I was sitting on the shore
Saw some movement in the water
So I waited to see more
Shiny humps so black and graceful
West to east she glided by
Horizontal to the waves now
Had to blink to clear my eyes
Looked again but she had gone down
Without making 'er a splash
I stood up to make my exit
Away from the lake I dashed
Eerie Lake Erie holds Bessie
Sure of that without a doubt
If you plan to go in swimming
I'd suggest that you stay out

What you saw is probably just one of those mutated fishes from the Cayuga River. ;-) Don't you know that Lake Erie is on the waterway leading to the Atlantic? What you probably saw was just a small whale exploring the Great Lakes before it goes back to salt water.

| Heh. Bessie showed herself to you. Bessie may want to begin a friendship. Maybe Bessie will let you ride on her back. |
