Conversation and attention shouldn't fade once the ring is on. This happened to someone I know very well.

It's hell to be lonely
When you're not alone
There's no one to talk to
When you are at home

Trying to act happy
Is wearing so thin
Acting is just acting
There's nothing within

You talk about bills and
You talk about bills
Attention just given
When you need some thrills

Then once it is over
You talk about bills
You're driving me crazy
I whip down some pills

Going through the motions
Like a mannequin
My heart has grown cold 'cause
There's nothing within

I made promises and
I gave you my vow
It's only on paper
That's how I feel now

It is unfortunate that after the ring has been slipped on, Jane, and life becomes routine that love quickly, in many cases, becomes a whining, hateful thing.

Sadly, the theme of your words is one that is universal on this planet. Thank you for sharing, Jane. Love and best wishes,
