Torn Between Two Hearts

This poem is from my collection of "quiet creations", enjoy!

I find that I am torn between two hearts

You and I,  it seems,  are worlds apart

One heart belongs to him in the present

While the other is still yours,  wrapped in our past

How long will these feelings for you last?

I struggle to go on with my life from day to day

No matter how hard I try,  your memory won't go away

He says that he loves me and that his heart is true

He doesn't have a clue,  I keep comparing him to you

He can't be the man I won't him to be

Because my past with you,  keeps haunting me

Time can't erase all the years I spent with you

But I'm torn between two hearts and don't know what I should to do

I guess,  what I'm asking,  is for you to give me a sign?

Then I will find the strength to leave one heart behind

And if one heart doesn't belong to you

To the other heart,  I will give my all to make our dreams come true !

A common dilemma. Happened to me once. She chose him. Probably all for the best. My grandmother, then dying of cancer, told me, “She's too bossy.” You know, my grandmother was right.

I guess you “won't” him too much. ;-)
