I’ve wandered the barrens for hundreds of years,
Preying on those that exhibit woodland fears,
In the dark my eyes do shine in red,
Right up to the point that you find yourself dead…
I’ve eaten all manner of being,
Started with small animals, then took on humans,
With my wings I do glide over the trees,
Looking for those hiking, biking or not seeing…
I find the children most tasty,
But let us not talk here too hasty,
Even older humans with meat are not too pasty,
I’ll never die, no bullet will my skin pierce,
No other creature will hurt me, I am to others too fierce…
