Drowned Rat...

Out in the rain did Rufuz go,

No let up since this morning, the creek does overflow,

I tried to dry him with big fluffy towels,

Then he shook and soaked me right down to my bowels…J

…lousy weather…

A neighbor was so kind to take him for a walk,

His business done he will stay inside in comfort,

Ready he is now to eat his breakfast without balk,

He still sits by the door and at me he does gawk…J

…at least it ain’t snow…

He looks the part of a drowned rat,

Cleaning his paws with his tongue,

He certainly does smell the part,

I don’t even feel like going out to the mini mart…
