Trying too Hard...

Pushing myself to write, need to go to bed, too tired to write any more...

Trying too Hard…

Did you ever think you were maybe trying to hard?

Writing poems or just words on the back of a card,

Napkins too can make a place to write,

Whether or not it is actually right,

That is up to the individual…

Sometimes though, I feel, I may be pushing myself,

Beyond the limits of my abilities to conceive,

That of any word, or so I sometimes perceive,

But then again, I find, so much solace in the write,

So much so that I find myself to feel relieved…

Lost I am at this moment, to make up my mind,

The hell with it, time to go to bed, to open my mind,

To the possibilities of the dream,

So that maybe tomorrow I can then scheme,

And make new writes for me to ream,

Unless you of course find you must scream,

To tell me to stop writing…

It is all so…excessively extreme!

I can totally relate to this and some of my best "inspiration" often comes just before I sail off to the land of dreams. Thank you, Ed. Love and peace. Regis
