A simple rememberence of years spent in Heidelberg Germany.

Heidelberg

Cobble stone streets—steel tracks

    Strassenbahn cars—Oge trains

City so calm, yet

    full of life—your charms—

Your years,

Oh!  How old you must be.

Never before, have I seen

    a city so old—

Yet still modern,

    with people—warm

And friendly as could be.

Time spent—in castle garden

    a cable car to overlook

A Neckar wide—old bridge

    cobble stone—market square.

Friendly beer at Sepple’s, or

    a big round table—Rote Oxen

The Metropol to Rodensteiner

they are all a part of me.

With university—so great

    you cast a memory,

Of students—very foreign

yet, as friendly as could be.

Truly said—

    when one walks away

They have their

          Herz aus Heidelberg—

Verloren.
