My first stab at writing in my German language since 1966. A poem of hope.

Ich Hoffe

Ich hoffe diesen einen tag

Die sonne wird leuchten—

Himmel sind blau

Und leute—lächlen.

Keine Schreie mehr

Für Krieg oder Streit—

Keine Tränen mehr

Für velust an leben.

Wenn bevölkert

Von ger welt,

Erinnern Sie sich schliesslich

Ihre Wurzein, und

Die welt wird

Einer.
