Photo

I stumbled on a photo
from a room in some sacred place
where her eyes are probably smiling right now
and her whispery voice
speaks of love
to whoever will listen
and even if they won’t
she’ll still speak of it
and I wish I could hear her from here

I stumbled on a photo
filled with frozen laughter
and captured sparkles
that she stores in her eyes
and flashes to children
so they can  know  peace and comfort
still exist in the world
and people still love people
and even I get it,
from way over here

I stumbled on a photo
where maybe I shouldn’t be looking
god knows I’m wearing it out anyway
looking at it so much ,
I’m sure it’s causing it to fade
but life has a funny way
of never following these silly plans
that we make anyway.
the best surprises come
when we aren’t looking
at all

I stumbled on a photo
lets see what develops.

Very cool ending, loved that little surprise, loved this poem, too.

Sweet, sincere memories that linger within your heart and soul. Do believe I have a few that I have worn out, wondering what might have been if circumstances were different. Yet we can not allow ourselves to dwell in the past, can we......

Be always safe,
Karen

A wonderful writing. Photos can be calming and memorable. With digital these days, not many photos are printed to hold in our hands...just able to view on our PC's. Great play on words at the end---Let's see what develops!
