She Waits

Gossamer wings of a purplish hue
Flutter behind keeping her cool
Sitting alone on a grassy shore
Eyes glued to an invisible door.

Ten years ago he was sent on a quest
To find the fairy queen's jeweled chest
He kissed her first then stroked her hair
She watched him leave with a teary stare.

Ten years have passed without a word
Is he alive or dead?  No one's heard
She can only wait and hope and yearn
That some day soon he will return.

Astarte's Muse

Interesting. Sounds like a fantasy poem. Are you into fantasy and science fiction?
