Fly On Your Wall

If only I could be a fly on your wall,

I could keep you in my sight without your knowing,

adoring you freely without fear or shame,

but alas,

you would eventually find and crush me.

If only I could be the stars you look up to when the night unfolds,

I would appear bright and unattainable,

A true beauty to behold,

Something you could only fantasize about touching,

but alas,

You would forget all about me by morning.

If only I could be the sheets that cover your body,

able to touch and caress every part of you,

hold you every night,

keeping you warm like no other,

but alas,

You would only toss me aside at the sight of a new dawn.

If only I could be the air you breathe,

filling you with my all each day,

you would need me like none other,

take me in time and time again,

but alas,

you wouldn't even realize it.

If only I could show you what I feel,

tell you what's in my heart,

bare my soul,

kiss your lips,

and confess all the desire I've locked away inside,

offer myself to you completely,

but alas,

You would only crush me,

like a fly on your wall.

Crystal,
Beautifully written to perfection. Very tender and heartfelt piece of work.
A bit sad though but the subject never gives up on their dreams. Excellent.
