A poem written for my grandma after her passing.

It has been so long,

Such a long, long time.

Since I’ve spoken with you,

And heard your voice chime.

There is so much to tell,

And I have so little time.

I guess that I’ll begin,

With my dear wife, Michelle.

Ex-wife she’ll be soon,

She put me through hell.

When last you and I spoke,

We were doing so well...

Seems I was right when I said,

“Grandma, I’ll be okay.”.

I hope you haven't worried,

As I did not go astray.

God is as close to me now,

As He was on that day.

It’s been a long road,

Grandmother it seems.

What happened to my youth,

Or became of my dreams.

I don’t know where to begin,

Or what it all means.

Grandma, some days I’m lost,

Without the sound of your voice.

Feels like you’re so far away,

I miss your grace and poise.

I wish that I could hear you once more,

But then, that’s not my choice.

Grandma, I’m sorry,

As I have’nt always been strong,

I was weak for the whiskey,

I was weak for so long.

But I remembered your words,

And they kept me from wrong.

Grandma, I love you,

God, I hope that you know.

I didn’t say that nearly enough,

Emotions are so hard to show.

I’m getting better at it these days,

Seems a little late now though.

Grandma, I miss you,

Just about every day.

Life hasn’t always been easy,

Since God took you away.

I hope He lets you read this,

For that, tonight I’ll pray.

Grandma, some days I feel you,

Looking down on me from the sky.

With a smile perched upon your lips,

And a tear inside your eye.

I hope you can see me smile back,

And Grandma please, don’t cry.

Grandma, I want you to know,

How much you still mean to me.

And I know that you’re not gone,

For you live inside of me.

The words you spoke through your chains,

Are what set me free.

Grandma, I’ll write when I can,

Let you know what’s going on.

I’ll tow the line as best as I can,

As you taught me, right from wrong.

And I’ll do my best to behave,

Love always,

    Your Grandson.

Prayer Poems for Mother (A Great Gift for Mother) by John Domino

What can you give mother that will last forever? A prayer poem book that says, "I love you!" This is the ultimate gift for mother or grandmother. It's much better than any card you..
