I'll Come Back

by Pradeep Panda on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 5:51am ·

I'll come back

When u forget me..

And be happy

That I m away

For ever...

Remember

I'll come back.

Once we shared

Our times together..

Hand in hand

Walking down the street

On a lonely road

Counting trees

On either sides..

You blamed me

For my failing memory..

Let me tell u now

I remember everything

I just wanted to check

How u feel about me.

It never went unnoticed

When I slipped a step.

U cared for me

So did I...

Till...that fateful moment

Something happened.

And we failed to listen

To one another...

U were lost in urself

I in myself...

We behaved like strangers

Changed our masks

Greeted formally

And bade 'Goodbye'..

U looked to east

I faced the west.

Both moved on and on

Away from one another...

never looked back...

Strangely I missed u

U too must have missed me.

I dont know..

But moved on

As far as I could..

I never forgot anything

without u i was lonely..

Far in the horizon

I can see someone

Coming towards me..

Is it u...?

I m sure now..

It is u..

Never looking back

Now we r face to face

U r looking east

And I m looking west...

Lets make a new beginning

Put off our masks

And merge into one another

Lets be one..u and me...

Maybe I was wrong.

Maybe u r right...

Our eyes see only

one another's..

I find u and u find me...

Remember I said..

'I'll come back..'

Did I really....?

Or was it u....?

A revealing and deeply emotionally challenging poem.

Thanks Ron....I have tried to explore the different shades of relationship in love....a paradox that keeps happenning...when one tries to forget it reminds that person more and more....separation thickens love till both merge in one singleness...then nothing matters ....

I hope this isn't true because of the psychological insight it provides. I like the ending where the forgetfulness comes back.
