Seeing you again,
after such a long time,
I'd have to say
sent a glimmer of hope
from my head
to my heart.

You were standing there,
in line at the store,
I had to look twice,
as your hair is longer,
and your clothes are newer,
but your smile
could still melt a
thousand icebergs.

I was contemplative at first,
deciding if
one hello
was worth
one more heart break.

You've done it before,
after all we've been through;
the winters at the cabin,
the weekend at the coast,
the late night ice cream runs
after a long night of lust.
Oh, the times we had
that'll never be forgotten!

Perhaps we could pick up
where we left off,
and start anew,
no anger,
no tears,
no fears.

As my heart floated towards you,
I could already feel you in my arms,
A gentle
hello
fell from my lips,
and you turned your head;
a big smile graced your
perfect face.

We talked about
the times we had,
and the places we've been,
the hearts we've left behind,
and the heart you currently hold.

I knew it was too good
to be true .
You had to have a "someone",
and it didn't hurt me so bad.
At least this way I knew,
and wouldn't have to guess
what might have been.

What we had has already happened,
and what you have,
is what you've always wanted.
I said that I hoped
it will last,
and stand the test of time,
knowing full-well,
I prayed it wouldn't.

Before my prayer could
process,
your new love
was in your embrace.
An introduction ensued,
and my heart was broken
again.

I tried with all my might,
to hold back the jealousy,
more so,
the tears.

You hurt me more than ever,
and after this I knew it time to go,
as you introduced me to your love,
as just a friend you used to know...

Oh Rodd this has a punch that hits really hard my friend!!

I know the feeling...been there done that!!

It is so hard to let go of someone you truly love..is it possible to do that?

I doubt it!! True love will never die!!
