When I was young,
I was always told
how to act,
where to run,
how to play,
when to come.

I was diciplined for
time,
I never meant to waste.
things,
I never meant to take,
and
words,
I never meant to say.

I wanted to break out.
I wanted to show the world,
who I was,
and bust away from where
I was supposed to go.

I learned young that
living life was never
meant to be be a chore.
I wanted to always be the
one to spread my wings and sore,
Late at night I'd lie down
on my bedroom floor
and beg Him to
tell me that there's something more.

I've made something
of my life,
I'm sure not many have
been able to take.
It's far from over,
and it's just getting
started.
But the things I've done,
and the places I've been,
are leaps and bounds
further and higher than
anyone thought possible.

I've had regrets,
and I've had loves,
I've had hugs,
and I've had threats.
It's changed who I am,
to realize from where I've come,
and believe in what I can do,
from the people that I knew.

I've shaped hearts,
and molded lives,
based on what I've thought,
and to the table
what I've brought.

Of all I've found in my life,
the people that touch me deepest,
are the ones I'll hold most dear
when I pass on.
The times that I've spent
and the lives that I've bent,
will lie in the back of many minds
for years to come.
I'll one day be lying on a sandy shore,
assured in my mind that I'll never
have to ask Him anymore
to
tell me that there's something more...
