Now I stopped beside the bed
In wonder watched instead
As time pleads a voice
A new seed
A babe born in manger
Now time it keeps
As shepherds watched
And pilgrims sleep
A voice whispers
Oft they stray in anger kept
In special bay
To live with a savior
All keeps in love weeps
Time heals our sorrow
Forgiven
I stopped beside a willow tall
Into my arms a Dove did fall
I wonder through it all
Why to me is this gift
Given
From ash and dust
Sword of life
Failing rust
A mercy past
Still living
Into the night I peek
Stars are bright
Children sleep
War is ever deep
Is the gift still
Believing
Knees bent fast
Chest is beat
I pray fast
All will be
In heaven
