A stop

In my way I pass before the eyes of life
In my heart a cry goes out for the many yesterdays
I do believe in the marks of the many before me
I do receive the reasons pushing promise and belief
Words of promise kept in the need of moments
Words of tears at the pain in keeping place
Watch the needs of body and mind erased
Buttons of image kept in the bowl hidden

So today in a rut created one an end to understanding
I cross the brink of love given taken and thrown away
As you ask to much of one all feelings lie
Walls come in and take a mind to brink
Shadows work the edges of many life's lived
True lives in patches given and taken
Hurt passes the skirts of candy and flowers

In my way I pass before the eyes of life
In my heart a cry goes out for the many yesterdays
Laughter works in reason and seasons of education
Mental strength bleeds a seed of makers left
A touch of dream keeps faith but hope dies
For in promise life lives but the soul cries
