Sitting across a table, you shimmering there
Cordially invited and totally unaware
That you are a light diminishing
You are a task not worth finishing

And I digress...

I'm not going to self-hypnotize myself once more for you
I refuse to relinquish my right to do what I want to
You've handcuffed me to my own damn miseries
Locking doors, barring gates and swallowing the keys

Coldness and cruelty spawning visions of inequality
Self-adhesive pure intention of murder will never be
Proven beyond any reasonable doubt of malice
No lie, now vow or promise
Will be saving you today

Windows vanish and slip further away
I'm not here to tell you what to say
I'm simply here to act as your guide
Sowing you all the best places for you to hide

I have experience beyond what you might have thought
Look at the damage your behavior has brought
Memories of others will remember your tyrannical policy
I, for one, refuse to ever be
A pawn in a war that takes place inside your head
After your thoughts leave your dreams all dead

You can sit there and watch me slowly walk away
Into the horizon and watch it give birth to a new day
And in hindsight there's something you might find
Of all you stole from me, the most precious was my time
