This is a poem dedicated to my Stepfather Who has been a thorn in my flesh for many years. Somehow The Lord has given me a spot of compassion for him. My stepfather has been emotionally abusive and has recently become worse, but my prayer for him is that the Lord will heal his tormented soul. For just the way that he has hurt me, he was hurt as a child, and now I can see, he's just a hurting man, and God help him. Keep a prayer in your hearts. Thank you for reading.
You were the monster in my life.
Through the eyes of a child,
you made me regret being the seed
God chose to bring forth through my Mothers' Womb.
Malicious words with deceitful intentions, that was what you called Love.
I lay by the wasteside with decapitated dreams and hopes.
The hope that someday you could be the Loving Father I never had.
In my tears, I can still hear the laughter.
The mockery and false theories that I would never amount to more than what you always thought of me,
You tried to convince me that my existence was nothing more than a mere fragment of my imagination.
Deeper than the ruins of Pompeii, so my hatred lay for you.
I was pulled out of the depths of the mire with a hand of compassion.
For that reason, God allowed me to see you are, but just a man.
Everlasting mercy was bestowed unto my heart of stone.
Through all of my pain,
it is Now for you, I grieve.

|God can change the hearts of even the nastiest of people; I truly and wholly believe in that! Just keep praying for him; and God will do His Wonderous Work in his (and your) life. Good write! (((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Texas, Karen Lynn. :( Your stepfather is in my prayers, too, and I join you in praying for him!|

|Good for you, Yvonne. Even nasty people need 'a spot of compassion' from someone.|
