(Dedicated to Melissa, a young girl finding her way through the pains of first-love.)

Flowers sometimes bloom out of season,
But almost always suffer violence in return.
Yet God has just given me a reason
To observe such a flower and many lessons learn.

Her eyes are the center of the world;
Where Wisdom goes to study, and Hope to grow.
At the surface many colors swirl,
And deep beneath, the innocence of Truth is plainly shown.

I walked by this flower many times,
And for the first time noticed beauty rarely seen before.
Not vain beauty with a glossy shine;
But beauty like the evergreen that fights winter's violent scorn.

Fear not, young flower, to be the first to bloom;
Because of you, frozen hearts will know that more are coming soon.

We all seem to have a different favorite line. This was my favorite. Guess that means all of them were exceptional. Beautiful work! Thanks.

Just beautiful Eddie. I especially loved these lines:

Fear not, young flower, to be the first to bloom;
Because of you, frozen hearts will know that more are coming soon.

Wonderful ending!
