~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~In memory of a moment long gone but not forgotten~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My Life began today:
Though my lungs have filled these many years,
Yet now, with the scent of honeysuckle floating merrily on the wind,
Beneath this Water Oak, looking into your lovely eyes,
I deeply breathe of you.
My Joy began today:
Though my mouth has often filled with laughter,
As the giggle of the stream beneath us, blending with your voice,
Beckons harmony from the doves calling from the nearby meadow,
I softly whisper your name.
My Love began today:
Though my heart has been caressed by its flame,
As I gently touch your cheek, and feel the passion ignite within us,
Walking upon this wooden bridge, your hand in mine, I say aloud,
"My life began today!"
This is a beautiful tender romantic poem and one written by a man who knows what it is to love. Only a lover can pen such words. Well done poet.
