~~Can't a people that waste so much, consume so much, find a way to feed those among us who have nothing?~~

Rose-colored, stained-glass windows
Cannot shield us from decay
Grim reaper throws his shadow
We just nod and look away

Acid-tears on sunken cheeks
No one to hear their heartcry
Broken misfits, for solace seek
But every breath of hope dies

Faces haunt us as we sleep
What is a human soul worth
A mother's child bows down to weep
For food, for love, for comfort

The poor are with us always
There will be death and sorrow
When we close our eyes today
We insure it for tomorrow

Eddie, an important, well written poetic message. Politics have everything to do with our pathetic global food distribution system; a stain on humanity and all who view themselves as "civilized." Thanks for your statment.
