(Penned while on a trip with my future wife as I discovered how she was different than all the others before her who had left me hurting and confused in love.)
Stars donít shine any brighter;
When I am with you,
They shine as they are.
I donít seek escape from life:
People make mistakes
When they seek relationships
To give them refuge.
Should offer understanding:
You are not just a life-line
But a ship of truth.
I donít need distorted views
Of stars, or flowers,
Or birds, or music;
But I seek to know these things
As they truly are:
As they should be known.
Show me a thousand loves lost,
And Iíll discover
Care mistaken for love.
Emotions can be helpful,
Clothed in honesty.
If I seek a star,
Let it shine as it exists:
Not as poets dream.
Is not a refuge for two
But open sharing.
So I am never confused
When I am with you.

|I love this poem. I know exactly how u feel. I feel the exact same way about someone right now. But i was trying to explain the poem to someone else and they were confused or whatever. I was hoping you could email me a clear explanation of the poem that i can show them. Because I'm not to good with words. But its nice i love it.|

I don't recall ever seeing this particular poem. Thank you for sharing it. I am so glad that you and that beautiful wife of yours know true love and that my husband and I also know true love. So man hearts are broken on the search for someone who can truely love and be loved equally and wholly and for as long as the two shall live. Your friend, Sissy

|sounds like a good start to me...you are right, relationships should never be a way out of something else one isn't happy with, like reality but a way into a better reality|
