It was an honor to collaborate with Valerie Ann Pearson - I am cross-posting to bring attention to this beautiful tribute she wrote for a friend; and on which, I had the honor of collaborating. |

For those who have Lost their spouse ...
"I GRANT YOU PEACE "
The crystal light of heaven's glow,
as morning tends my eye,
Though time on earth we no longer spend,
nor dreams beneath the sky,
~~~~~~~~
Your angelic eyes inscribed in me,
like daydreams present past,
Thru whispers of the silent winds,
these memories everlast,
~~~~~~~~
I prayed the rain would never fall,
but saw your body weak,
Death tore the pages all away,
like a tormenting stinging thief,
~~~~~~~~
No-one knows the tears I cry,
within my mirrored heart,
or the shoes that I must walk in,
when loneliness takes its part,
~~~~~~~~
Death holds no sway in sacred bonds,
when love has been so true ,
This constant throbbing ache inside,
it's me still loving you,
~~~~~~~~
Our heart to heart enrichment,
and soul to soul spent years,
are almost like a sad goodby,
as I dry away these tears,
~~~~~~~~
Time with you was golden,
love a sacred dance,
in life I touched an angel,
I thank you for that chance,
~~~~~~~~
So as I turn these pages,
as the seasons come and go,
I silently take solitude,
with dreams of love I know,
~~~~~~~~
Those memories of permanence,
sweet tears my only scars,
I treasure deep and always,
beneath the twilight stars,
~~~~~~~~
So in life if ever asked,
if anyone touched you true ,
look high into the heavens,
for the angel once with you !
| Alex, you need to learn to read more properly - "morning tends my eye" is referring to the 'widower' - the person who is still alive. And thieves often torment those from whom they steel, if not directly, then by the stinging torment that is felt by the thing(s) being taken away. Please go back to Homer, do not pass Plato or Socrates. -- Jeff |
A very endearing piece that just reaches into one's soul to capture emotions long hidden from view. And so time does unfeelingly continue on its relentless march forward.....
Be always safe,
