This is about an experience that most of us have gone through. Some old loves just don't fade, but life goes on. It is a country and western song.

Times been good to you baby;
'Cos you still look fine to me.
Ever since the day you told me;
That you needed to be free.

Take these arms that I offer;
Don't let me stand out in the rain.
Let me feel you near to me,
Please let me hold you again.

You came back into my lonely life;
Like you'd never been away.
You only stopped to say hello;
Wish I could have made you stay.

'Cos I still love you.
Wish that I could make you see;
No-one makes me feel the way that you do.
You are the only one for me.

Remember just how good it was;
We could get it back again.
I won't need these ole memories;
 Of all this lonliness and pain.

Again, wite this as a poem, not as a song. Your words are powerful, but the average reader will get confused by the stops and starts.
