This was a previous poem that I posted a couple of years ago that I revised. I cannot believe the war is still going on...

I sit atop a mountain high
for peace within my mind
transcending waves of brilliant light
into the hearts of crime

The crimes of war
have given me
a pain so much to bear
I cannot fathom hatred when
A leader does not care

I pray within my mind and hope
he’ll save the troubled world
I look upon the anguished pain
when emptiness unfurls

I search beyond the cries of scorn
and see the human plight
Its longing for the freedom's face
in tragedy they’ll fight

For love begins the life domain
and cells begin their flight
within the womb of beauty's rage
when fetuses ignite

Though when they lose
their mother's touch
and hand that fed their soul
They see the bloodshed of the land
and scattered stains of war

I sing to God for it to end
to spare the lives of all
Our soldiers need us more and more
Send light for battle's call

The price of war is the loss of youth, and so much of youth lost is a tragedy that no one can justify anymore.

I love the lines, "For love begins the life domain - and cells begin their flight - within the womb of beauty's rage - when fetuses ignite" There is a lot of power in your writing. Thank you for sharing this moving poem.

Antoinette, this is moving and touching to the core of ones soul..God has an answer for us all and He's waiting to bring about the changes in the middle east. I believe God will not forsake His children. Never has, never will..Pray and believe. This is a call for me to pray for the beloveds there. Funny how I placed my prayers of abundance poem out when you placed this one out. But then again there are no coinencedece in the universe.May we all pray today for the middle east. It's such an uncertain time in the world. It's all biblical prophesy too being fulfilled..We have to beleive God has a plan for us all..

Peace & Love,
Dove
