Holidays sometimes make us thankful for all that we have...This poem was about my husband whom he and I have felt were soulmates from the start..Though it can also be about other souls who find each twin souls..

The sound of laughter
reminds me of you
as I reminisce old times
and jazz players
where sips of wine tantalized our lips
and love began its journey
into our souls

You never had to put on your best
for I felt knew you well
as though you were my twin
and I found you searching
among the ashes to find me

There we were,
a union among heartaches
seeded from life’s trials,
and yet we gave each other
boundless love
from a bouquet of hope
pressed in time

No one could ever take
from us, the gift
of divine intervention
when our souls who were
longing to give
became one in thought…

Awesome Antoinette, this is one touching and heart warming write. When two souls unite like this it is a rarity and when we can express it so well in poetry we are indeed blessed.

Great write, and I like your new profile picture.

Beautiful tribute to your sister. I can see glimpses when I visit the twins I know in Texas.

Antoinette ...
There were several parts of this that I truly enjoyed. very poetic moments i believe.

"There we were,
a union among heartaches"
and ...
"when our souls who were
longing to give
became one in thought…"
Superb ...

Light and Wisdom ...
