Memphis 2004
Night after night, as we gather together in Night Life
Each night brand new, filled with potential
Oldies, newbies, pervs, and fighters
You just never know and that’s the charm
Each person brings special qualities
From across the continent they come
Pennsylvania is the birthplace of an idea
Philly to be exact, the residence of our fearless leader
We share in each other lives, the good, the bad, and the downright nasty
We watch in awe as lives shift and change, coming together, ripping apart
With the loving guidance of the Mighty Moderator, we turn a new page every night
Writing the story of how we came to be, who we are, and where we go together
Some stay for years, some just a few days
Some get on cam and some don’t
Some use their mics too much and some too little
Some prefer to type – it’s whatever works best
We each have a different need, a different expectation
Say what you will about this eclectic group, we are friends
The dynamics are different, the medium new and savvy
But the friendships are well rooted and long lasting
Laughter, voices, chats, theme nights, contests, body parts, and toys
Music, events, politics, mic errors, the stuff of life
Fasten up your five-point harness, because you just never know where it’s gonna go
Hell that’s half the fun of it
For the good of the room
It’s not just a motto; it’s a way of thinking
It’s not just paying lip-service; here it means something
It’s not just idol chatter; it’s silly, serious, and joyful too
For the good of the room – it’s who we’ve become
