Just a kiss

upon my lips

began the journey

volumes spoken

no words spilled

lip upon lip

tongue teasing tongue

breath warm and heavy

a fog from elsewhere

the promise implied

between the lips

begs to be explored

steal my breath

and heart with

just a kiss

nothing more.

Love it! Gentle, sensual, nice imagery.

In my mind, that's the way a kiss should be--a kiss that leads to tender love making because one loves, not because one just becomes aroused. A kiss must come from the heart first before the tongue!

Seldom is a mere kiss, just a kiss. They carry great responsibilty. Hearts can be broken, with just a kiss. Hearts can be mended, with just a kiss. Very well written poem .Jon Michael Willey

Rose,
I see here your talent with the pen is only growing bigger and better writes.
Something simple as a kiss can be the start of so many meories but also can be used as a seal to lock and store them in you forever.

The simplicity of this lovely piece of writing is its greatest strength. I enjoyed the author's dedication to the topic and inventiveness in expressing it to the reader. The flow is open and free, tumbling from beginning to end. The imagery is nearly palpable. I felt as though I were there. Great writing!

But a kiss can be symbolic (beyond the physical) and it can mean so much. Nicely done, Rose. Thank you. Love and best wishes,

A kiss can do so much! Though I love your title (and your work), Rose, a kiss is never 'just'.
