Have you ever called to the gods

Circling high above

Demand that they bring down the rain

     Wait…

Watch people die at your command?

What dreams are made of this?

Thirteen times, hell’s bells have struck

Thirteen times, the whip’s come down

Yet, you still feel within your blood-won freedom,

A right to dictate your right from everyone’s wrong.

Have you ever called out in anger

Question injustice

Demand that something, anything be done

To stop the pain?

     Wait…

Call out the Marines to safeguard your morning

Make sure your bagel and coffee are protected

Support them individually

While you vilify them institutionally

Viagra warriors and soccer-mom hypocrites

Sacrifice is easy as long as all it costs is five bucks

And a cheap gallon of gas

Give to rebuild the World Trade Center

Buy a few sacks of flour for Thai refugees

Have you ever called to God

Hoping He’s high above

Ask that He bring down rain

     Wait…

While people die under your command?

What nightmares are made of this?

Thirteen times, hell’s bells have struck

Thirteen times, the whip’s come down

Fallujah afternoon,

Armed Forces Network reports on the radio

How the American people feel victory’s no closer

There’s no end in sight…

Hey, jam one of those dog tags between her teeth

It makes it easier for Graves and Registration.

Wait...

Yeap - nothing is gained but bitterness and hurt by all concerned -
It seems prosperity and world changes are made after a war - perhaps that is the real reason behind declaring war against another - who knows
