The irony of the false sense of security that explosive devices give us

It's reassuring to know
That I'm free to roam
In this land that's my home
With no fear of foreign invasion
An impenetrable nation
We're protected by bombs

Yes the sun shines brightly on you and me
And we are all free to do as we please
In our pursuit of happiness
Reassuring I must confess
In this land that God does bless
We're protected by bombs

We're protected by bombs
We're a Nation of Arms
No one can do us harm
We're protected by bombs
And our lives the bombs will defend
Until the bitter and explosive end

At night I sleep so peacefully
I know no foreign country will bother me
With their government policies
My dreams are uninterrupted
Morals are uncorrupted

Then I wondered what would happen to us all
If an opposing nation pushed our backs against the wall?
Would that be the days that the bombs would fall
And Anihilate us all?

Sing out strong and sing out proud
I don't want to be killed in a mushroom cloud
I don't want to be killed in a fire ball
I don't want to be killed at all!
(Author's note: I wrote the above in 1983, back then I never imagined anything like the attack of Tuesday Sept. 11, 2001)

Death to ALL cowardly terrorists

This is the best poem ever written in the whole wide world! My God almighty, George Bush should have this poem written and read to him! You've captured the very essence of the evil that permeates this world! OH! Watta Poem!
