Andrea, you point out so effortlessly which attitude - or outlook - one ought to adopt. Now if only the adopting were so effortless...guilty of foolishness, aren't we so often?
Great topic and cute kitten!

Clever poem, using both sides of an argument is the best. The kitty is cute also. He looks like my cat 'Maxwell' also known as Max, Kitty Kat, butt munch etc. ;) These are very good poems Andrea. Wishing you all the best!

Keep the glass that is half-full...and toss the other glass into
recycling. Just the theme...not your poetry.
Your entire piece here...both pieces...are excellent...
and I like the kitty pic, too. |

Yes, sad but beautiful and serious work. My own take on "glass half full/empty is more on the humorous side:
Ah, Pragmatism!
“Glass half full,” some say,
“Half empty!” others inveigh.
Depends what it is, I think,
Before I’d gurgle a big drink!

Aaah! The paradox of life! The shadow of that which is beyond my control so often empties the glass! How to come to terms with IT is the challenge! Did not the Christ reportedly say, "the cup that I must drink ....." Perhaps creativity can fill the emptiness and ... who knows ... fate may decide otherwise ... c'est la vie!
Well done Andrea - Magnus Rater |
