Naked Truth
So here it is, the naked truth
I met you too young, still in my youth
All the promises you made to me
Turned into explosive hypocrisy
Here I am and there you are
How did we make it this far?
Worlds apart, kids our only link
For we are divorced in black ink
How can you live with who you are?
For my part, I could no longer care
Until you hurt our flesh and blood
With the anger you vent in a flood
Controlling; as you see fit
But why? What’s the benefit?
Turn your “trust me, honestly”
To impurity with no integrity
You are a father, not a dad
And yes, that makes me sad
For broken vows you didn’t keep
I, for my part, can no longer weep
Can you not see what you’re doing?
Those precious lives that you’ve ruined
Your loss at the end of the day
For backs will turn and walk away
