he's a corner folder
i like that about him
conscientious about keeping his place
(always making sure i know mine:
[his] gravity has this uncanny knack
of finding my heart
(like chewed gum)
in his sole)
he's beautiful
it's not his fault
he cant remember his number
(and i know mine is up)

So much packed in so few lines: I love it, Cedric. Nothing ambiguous here: well done.

I love the opposing views of these lines:
"conscientious about keeping his place
always making sure i know mine"
It's a sad fact that when people are in this sort of relationship, they always seem to make excuses for the people that are using them. You show that well here -- even down to not capitalizing "I".
Very powerful.

A poem of few words and many feelings, takes us from the tender unblinking eyes of a small deer looking into the oncoming headlights, to the despondency of finding her heart like a piece of gum under someone's shoe.
But, this is very actual, because, in a society of use and throw away, love is not more a feeling but a commodity.
Which that heart needs nurturing, caring and not more lies go without saying.
Well done.

Do I feel a hint of insecurity on your part? There are men who can make you feel like that. You have created a great mysterious character. Victor

Maybe, or perhaps you are reading him wrong and his folded corners are really his continued protest against the library police of another day, hearts and souls are always slighty uncontrollable and sounds like this write captures some of that...
