HIS WORD is like the calmest ocean current slowly swelling to a mighty tide
Removing the purulence that languished behind any of our false sense of pride
HIS WORD is a swift river flowing when it rushes towards the sea
I feel at times as a fallen leaf upon its crest though caught up in its awesome majesty
HIS WORD is a healing balm that soothes all aches and pains
Moving mountains of my doubt and indecision away as cleansing as the stormy springtime rains
HIS WORD lifts my feet from the mire and clay and sets them on solid ground
Gives hope back to the hopeless and there we discover new life can be found
HIS WORD feeds the hungry, clothes and provides shelter to the lost
It is the Promise He’s made to us his children, because His son Jesus paid the cost
HIS WORD is power to walk righteously and instruction for daily living
Teaches love is the most precious gift of all, returns to us tenfold by our sincere love giving
HIS WORD compels Satan and his demons to flee even on a babe in Christ’s command
As the mightiest sword and shield any one can own, against any enemy we all have power to stand
HIS WORD increases our faith, so we can see those thing that be not as though they were
From the spirit realm manifested here we claim the gifts that God has long ago for us stored
HIS WORD answers questions asked in our youth, as He reveals to us His great plan
Tells me even in our sinfulness He still loves us, for the course of our lives were predestined by Him
HIS WORD planted in our hearts so like a fruit tree in its season grows and bears sweet fruit
It would never return to Him void, after He’s sent the appropriate nourishment needed for its roots
HIS WORD holds us to His bosom, close so you can whisper your cares in His ear
Like a father loves His child, He is ever watchful, ever near
HIS WORD covers us from head to toe, we are anointed by His grace
In all our varied walks of life, in every battle we are compelled to first seek His face
HIS WORD is our strong tower, over which nothing of this world can climb
As we walk in valley’s of darkness here on earth, no fear arrests our minds
HIS WORD is the fortress all around us, protecting us even from the very sting of death
By His spirit in us we are made righteous and in His love we find our place of rest.
